From ICOSA Collective:
“ICOSA Collective is proud to announce Artist in Conversation, a groundbreaking 24-hour endurance performance by artist Juliette M. Miller Herrera Nickle. Taking place at ICOSA’s gallery space in Austin, this immersive experience will push the boundaries of endurance, dialogue, and the evolving relationship between artist and audience.
Drawing inspiration from the rich lineage of performance art—particularly the works of Marina Abramović—Herrera Nickle’s performance meditates on the relentless perseverance required of artists. Over the course of 24 hours, she will engage in an ongoing conversation, exploring the necessity of human interaction in the creative process and art’s enduring presence across time and space.
The artist’s choice to sustain this dialogue over a full day and night is a testament to the enduring commitment of artists to their craft, communities, and cultural legacies. Audiences are invited to participate, witness, and reflect on the evolving dynamic of the artist-viewer relationship, celebrating art as a living, breathing conversation.
“Performance art is a vital, humanizing force,” Herrera Nickle says. “This piece is about more than endurance—it’s about honoring the dialogue that sustains art and society alike.”
Join us for this compelling journey of connection and endurance. Attendees may drop in at any time throughout the performance to experience this bold testament to artistic commitment and engagement.”
