From Unchained.Art:
“Unchained.Art Gallery proudly presents Tales in Ink: Juliette Lepage Boisdron. This is her second solo exhibition with the gallery.
You are invited to a pre-show preview on February 5th, from 4 – 7pm, with Juliette Lepage Boisdron. This intimate setting offers a great opportunity to engage directly with the artist as you explore her latest work.
The opening reception is on Thursday February 6th, from 5 – 8 pm.
Boisdron, is a multidisciplinary artist who blends her extensive cultural influences into an exploration of societal norms while evoking maternal, familial, and intergenerational relationships set in nature. This exhibition highlights Boisdron’s evolution and latest works, bringing together a complex narrative. At first glance, her scenes seem simple and playful, yet this allows her symbolic feminist and ecological themes to emerge intuitively. Rendered in Chinese and Indian ink on Xuanzhi rice paper, occasionally acrylic and delicate stitching, her works alternate between figurative, abstract, and organic creations.
About the Artist:
Born in Paris, her multicultural upbringing—spanning North China, the U.S.S.R., the Arab Emirates, and sub-Saharan Africa—has profoundly shaped her artistic vision. With a master’s in art history from the Sorbonne and a career that includes gallery direction, artistic agency in India, and jewelry design, her work reflects a lifetime of study and engagement in global cultures. Today, Boisdron lives between Basel, Paris, and Lisbon and is represented by galleries in Basel, Switzerland and the U.S. She has exhibited for over 30 years in America, Europe and Asia, and her work is part of private collections worldwide.
Juliette Lepage Boisdron’s artistic journey reached a milestone in 2023 with the publication of Abracadabra: The Aesthetic Universe of Juliette Lepage Boisdron. This art book celebrates her decades of creative exploration and serves as a culmination of her career to date.
Recent features in The Art Insight and Aatonau offer further exploration of Boisdron’s work.”
