March 25 - April 30, 2023
From the organizers:
“A group art show, Arcadia Spring Art Show will open March 25 th in Downtown Tyler. The Martin Walker Law Firm at 121 N. Spring Ave. will host the exhibit in its award-winning facility, which historically served as the Arcadia Theater but now serves as the law firm headquarters. Pieces to be displayed at the show will include paintings by four local female artists showcasing different approaches to the painting. Melissa DeCarlo, author, and artist is eternally interested in the stories we tell ourselves and others. Her portraiture and figurative work help her remember that whatever our differences–real or imagined- -we are all still members of the same human family. Christie Gunter Joy is a native Tylerite. Her art is influenced by the Impasto Technique. Bright, Bold, and full of Texture! Her style engages the scenes. The Tyler Rose Fields have inspired numerous floral commissions. Ingrid Horner is an American artist born in Uruguay. Her abstract work is defined by using geometric shapes, forms, and vibrant colors. Inspired by everyday objects and drawing from her experiences, travels, and the influence of diverse cultures, she explores the interaction of these elements as a parallel to how humans relate to each other and their surroundings. Dace Kidd is a Latvian born American artist living and working in Tyler, Tx. She creates paintings that reference different art styles and genres and large-scale site-specific installations.”
