January 6 - February 24, 2023
From K Space Contemporary:
“K Space Contemporary is pleased to host the Dianne Komminsk Scholarship Award winners of the Mid-South Sculpture Alliance. The public is invited to attend the opening reception during ArtWalk on Friday, January 6th from 5:30 to 9 pm. The exhibition will continue through February 24th.
The Mid-South Sculpture Alliance advances the creation and awareness of sculpture in its many, and varied forms, promoting a supportive environment for sculpture and sculptors. This organization has a national membership base and is focused on advancing the education and opportunities for sculpture students. The Scholarship originated with a generous donation from Ohio Art patron and philanthropist, Dianne Komminsk. Mid-South Sculpture continues this legacy of generosity by providing students with opportunities to showcase their works. In 2022 the scholarship received thirty-seven applicants from twenty-six institutions nationwide. Six of those applicants were selected as scholarship recipients.
The exhibition features works from the following artists:
Amalia F. Memingas, University of Tennessee Knoxville, MFA
Amelia Key, The University of Oklahoma, MFA
Francis Akosah, Eastern Illinois University, MFA
Javier Merino Crisanto, Lamar University, BFA
Kyle Cottier, University of Tennessee Knoxville, MFA
