“The perception of our existence as individuals separate from others and separate from the space we inhabit is an inherent characteristic of the human experience. However, the moment we think of ourselves as individuals we create structures that contain, divide and oppress, literally and metaphorically. By refusing to treat the picture plane as a flat surface, the artists in Paper Flesh invite the viewer to gaze at scenes and impressions inspired by the delusional qualities of human perception.
