featuring 365 original journal works by artist Tra` Slaughter
documenting the daily life of an artist and his personal struggle with bipolar disorder. “It’s not an easy thing to talk about, but it is critical to have an open dialogue about mental health within the art community, the lack of community support currently available and what we can do to change this.”
Each original piece created on the front page of a newspaper from various locations around the globe reads as a journal entry, recording the daily life of an artist battling mental illness.
This exhibition is Tra` Slaughter’s approach to a crucial conversation about mental health awareness in today’s society. In addition to these journal pieces, there will be a large-scale installation highlighting both the dichotomy and connectivity of some of the best and worst global events of 2019.
