October 17 - 25, 2019
A solo exhibition featuring work by Katya Du Pond.
“Born in Mexico City and currently residing in Houston, Katya Du Pond explains that every art piece in this exhibit depicts various intimate aspects of women’s perceptions and feelings. “Desde lo Profundo” (From the Deep) conveys their multiple strengths and weaknesses, as well as their moments of sadness and vulnerability, with the ultimate message of inviting women to live the journey that life has presented to them with the certainty that every hardship brings a learning experience and will ultimately pass. This theme relies deeply on evoking empathy with the audience, as they will find reflected in the paintings aspects to which they can personally relate.”
Opening: October 17, 2019 | 6:30–7:30 pm
