Artist Talk: “Poncili Creación is a performance collective whose work intersects puppetry, sculpture, performance and sound. Learn more about their creative process in making large wearable sculptures and working collaboratively.”
Workshop: “Students and volunteers will work with Poncili to create new wearable sculptures inspired by Natasha Bowdoin’s installation “Sideways to the Sun.” These puppets will then be worn in a performance that will premiere at Dimensions Variable on March 23rd at 7 pm. Dinner will be provided for workshop participants.To sign up, please email: pac6@rice.edu”
Performance: “An original performance featuring wearable sculpture/puppet hybrids designed by Puerto Rico based puppet group Poncili Creación, inspired by and performed in situ with Natasha Bowdoin’s installation Sideways to the Sun. The performance will be followed by a screening of Isabella Rossellini’s humorous short film series, Green Porno.”
