May 10 - June 21, 2025
From Giant Runt:
“Giant Runt Gallery is proud to announce Amorphous Structure, a solo exhibition showcasing the work of Joshua Hargrave. This exhibition runs from May 10, 2025, to June 21, 2025, at Giant Runt Gallery, located in the Near Southside neighborhood of Fort Worth, TX. An opening reception will be held Saturday, May 10, 5-8 pm.
Hargrave’s glass sculptures explore the language of architecture through distortion and fluidity. With a background in construction, he begins with structured forms—towers, checkers, geometric patterns—that he then warps, melts, or collapses. On a molecular level, glass is an amorphous structure—neither fully liquid nor fully crystallized. Hargrave sees that in-between quality as a metaphor for navigating the world: not everything has to fit neatly into categories. His work embraces that space of ambiguity, where structure and chaos aren’t opposites, but collaborators.
About the artist: Joshua Hargrave is a glass artist based in Dallas, TX. After a 10-year break from the material, a profound mushroom trip reminded him of his passion for and personal attachment to glass. Hargrave has worked, studied, and taught at Pilchuck Glass School, and his upcoming show, Amorphous Stucture, will open as a part of the 2025 GAS Conference. He currently maintains his practice from his home studio at UTAGlass.
