“Heather Gorham’s Everyday Saints & Ordinary Things Only Bigger offers two distinct yet interconnected bodies of work. In her paintings, she introduces an imagined pantheon of “helpers”—saints, designed to carry our burdens, both large and small, providing solace and humor in turbulent times.
Meanwhile, her sculptures transform familiar, overlooked objects into exaggerated forms, inviting viewers to reconsider the mundane through a lens of playfulness and wonder. By scaling up the ordinary, Gorham challenges us to see with fresh eyes, redefining our relationship with the everyday.”
