March 10 - 15, 2025
From Moody Gallery:
“Roots of Amnesia will be on view at Moudy Gallery from March 10 – 15, 2025, with an opening reception on Tuesday, March 11th, from 6-8pm. Prior to the reception ,Christopher Carmona, Director of the Center for Mexican American Studies and Research at Our Lady of the Lake University, will give a presentation in conjunction with the show from 5-6 pm in the Media Center 132 in Moudy North building at 2805 S University Dr, Fort Worth, TX 76129.
Roots of Amnesia examines the resilience of cultural memory in a region shaped by migration, contested identities, and the ongoing procedure of colonial override. Through photography, Rodriguez explores how cultural presence persists despite hegemonic narratives, using portraiture, landscapes, and asynchronous events to blur the lines between memory, documentation, and history. By reimagining photography’s narrative potential, he challenges historical erasure and reveals the imprints of identity, land, and survival that shape their conceptual understanding.”
