February 12 - March 31, 2025
From Patrick Jones Gallery:
“Patrick Jones Gallery is pleased to present Liminal Spaces, a group exhibition highlighting the theme of change—both literal and metaphorical. Featuring works by Ermin Tabakovic, Jonathan Davenport, and Michèle Caspers, the show examines the uncertainty, beauty, and introspection that follows transitional spaces and times in our lives. Running from February 12th to March 31, 2025, this show draws attention to the moments where one state of being transitions into another.
About the Exhibition
The term “liminal spaces” refers to the thresholds or in-between places where transformation takes place. These are spaces of possibility, where the familiar gives way to the unknown, and change feels both unsettling and inspiring. Liminal Spaces uses this concept as a lens to explore personal growth, shifting landscapes, and the fleeting moments that shape our journeys. Though each perspective is entirely its own, the featured artists provide their own view on these transitional periods, capturing the emotional complexity of change.
Featured Artists
Ermin Tabakovic: Modern geometric painting has had a very big influence on Tabakovic’s especially the works by Constructivist artists such as Malevich and El Lissitzky and the various other modern Art movements of the early 20th century such as Cubism, Neoplasticism, and Surrealism. In his current work, he tends to fuse all these different influences and combine them with his own personal aesthetic. Tabakovic’s goal is to create a new, non-objective, geometric visual language with a futuristic undertone that transcends the past and points to something new and different.
Jonathan Davenport: Davenport’s process is both rigorous and intuitive, a dialogue between the material and the metaphysical. With a renewed focus on the tactile and the painterly, Davenport began exploring the intersections of photography, collage, and painting, creating works that transcend categorization, offering instead a meditative exploration of texture, time, and cultural symbolism.
Michèle Caspers: Caspers’s goal is to create interactions between artwork and viewer that explore themes such as identity and perception. She wants to create spaces of mindfulness where people can leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind and grasp the nuances of the present moment. Works that are meant to stop us from letting time pass us by unnoticed, to leave the future in the future and live in the here and now. They are meant to remind us that it is the small moments that make up our lives and make us happy.
