From Mercury Project:
“In All The Nature We Have, artists Jennifer Khoshbin and Hilary Rochow invite their audience to contemplate connections and disconnections between the inner and natural worlds. THroughout recorded human history, animal imagery has been used as a guide, an inspiration, or even a warning. The artists, through their individual creative practices, turn to this rich tradition. The totality of the work explores humanity’s long standing relationship with animals through drawing, sculpture, and mixed media. The approach each artist uses ranges from reverent to anxious, all while existing under an umbrella of curiosity. In Khoshbin’s pieces, small stories emerge surrounding human and animal characters. Big cats rest uneasily in the white paper spaces of Rochow’s drawings while her sculptural works explore themes of grief. Collectively, the artists look equally to the past and the future of the human-animal relationship and urge the audience to use the works as a point of reflection. All The Nature We Have is an invitation to look inward as much as it is to look outward, with the hope to catalyze compassion, curiosity, and maybe even conviction amidst troubling times.”
