From TWU:
“Interwoven Resilience: Trauma, Healing, and Technology,” a solo-exhibition by Felicia Jordan-Jones, opens Monday, January 13 in the TWU East Gallery. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas and a graduate of Booker T. Washington of the Performing and Visual Arts, Jordan-Jones received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of North Texas. Her artistic practice explores the complex relationships between our physical, mental, and emotional selves. Using a blend of traditional textile techniques and modern three-dimensional fabrications, Jordan-Jones delves into the impact of individual trauma and the universal experience of loss. Currently, focusing on the Black experience—examining layers of generational trauma and the resilience that rises from it, her work reflects both personal and collective pain, transforming the invisible into tangible forms. “Each piece is inspired by the stories of my community, where I find strength and healing in their shared experiences… Ultimately, my practice is about healing—honoring the scars of the past while embracing the potential for growth and regeneration.”
