From William Campbell Gallery:
“William Campbell Gallery is honored to present Fragmented Serenity, a poignant exhibition featuring the late John Fraser’s abstract mixed- media constructions and found material collages. The exhibition will be on display from September 7th through October 19th, 2024, at the Gallery’s Byers Avenue location. This showcase is a tribute to Fraser’s artistic legacy, celebrating his innovative approach and the profound impact of his work on the art world. An opening reception will be held on Fall Gallery Night, Saturday, September 7, from 12:00-9:00 p.m. at 4935 Byers Avenue, Fort Worth, TX. John Fraser, a distinguished artist known for his masterful fusion of traditional and modern techniques, passed away in April 2024. His work has consistently explored themes of contemplation, perception, and the passage of time, resonating with audiences through his meticulous and thoughtful use of mixed media. The exhibition features Fraser’s recent works, including the evocative piece Blind Time, which explores the elusive nature of time through an elongated hourglass motif set against a textured panel surface. This artwork, along with others like Measured Formality, demonstrates Fraser’s exploration of geometric composition and understated elegance. Measured Formality, with its central motif of a shirt collar, exemplifies Fraser’s precision and attention to detail, inviting viewers to delve into the balance between formality and creativity . Fraser’s unique vision and ability to blend traditional and contemporary elements have left an indelible mark on the art community. His works are celebrated for their ability to evoke deep emotions and provoke thoughtful contemplation, transcending cultural and linguistic boundaries. “John Fraser’s contributions to the art world are immeasurable. His ability to transform ordinary materials into extraordinary expressions of thought and emotion was unparalleled,” said Misty Locke, Gallery Director and Partner at William Campbell Gallery. “This exhibition not only honors his artistic achievements but also offers a glimpse into his creative journey.” William Campbell Gallery invites the public to experience Fragmented Serenity and celebrate the life and work of John Fraser.
