From Unchained.Art:
“Join us at Unchained.Art Contemporary Gallery for a captivating journey into the world of abstract art with our upcoming group show, Facets of Abstraction. This exhibition celebrates the unique visions of three international and three local artists — Luise Neuner, Sara Sepulveda, Alli Suter, witty | Erica Wittenwiler, Jorge Nájera, and Nicolas Nadeau—who collectively bridge continents and cultures from North America to Europe.
Luise Neuner from Austria brings her free-spirited exploration of colors and moods to the canvas, capturing moments with a blend of intuition and emotion that resonates profoundly with viewers. Her works, infused with a palpable sense of passion, skilled color composition and balance, invite a deep personal connection.
Sara Sepulveda from Spain uses her architectural background to create geometrically inspired creations on canvas and paper that articulate the poetry of built and natural landscapes. Her art, rich in texture and structure, reveals the inner topography of our feelings, mirroring the complex interplay of light and memory.
Alli Suter from San Antonio, integrates her international upbringing and her sensitivity to the subtleties of raw materials into her art, creating pieces that are both enchanting and deeply personal. Her work, characterized by a fluid combination of textures, hues, and recognizable elements evokes a sense of mystery and romance.
Witty | Erica Wittenwiler from Switzerland, a master of layers and texture, employs a variety of materials to develop paintings that are rich in depth and narrative. Her work encourages viewers to engage in a dialogue with the art, finding personal meaning within the abstract forms and her sometimes hidden but always present writings.
Jorge Nájera from San Antonio explores the dualities of nature and urban decay through both two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms. His acrylic and oil paintings span a dynamic range serving as windows into both the tranquil and tumultuous natural phenomena. His innovative use of convex, concave and spherical wooden panels creates tactile experiences ranging from smooth to jagged.
Nicolas Nadeau from Austin challenges the boundaries between abstraction and figuration, using familiar elements to delve into formal abstract explorations. His vibrant, color-rich canvases invite viewers to rethink the distinctions between the real and the imagined. A challenge to the conventional distinctions of abstract and representational.
Facets of Abstraction not only showcases the breadth and depth of abstract art but also celebrates the individual stories and cultures that shape each artist’s approach and story. Through their diverse backgrounds and creative processes, these artists offer us a unique lens through which to view the abstract, making each piece a distinct yet interconnected part of the whole.
We invite you to immerse yourself in this vibrant exhibition, where every piece is a conversation, and every viewer is part of the dialogue. The artists take you into a diverse and fascinating world of abstraction and how their languages cross over distinctions, dimensions, and use of mediums. “
