From Sabine Street Studios:
“Ray Dunlap is an artist that lives with real mental experiences. For him, art is his form of expression. “Diary of an Abductee” explores the line between dreams and imagination vs. reality. Through Dunlap’s dreams, he lives a vivid experience of being abducted by the Seventh Hall of Heaven. When he awakes, he is compelled to document his experience. The diary is a form of storytelling. It is a coping mechanism adjusting imagination to reality. The dreams are so intense that the REM frequencies are expressed through drawings. Follow his artwork journey on Instagram (@dunlapian)
East Corridor Gallery (ECG) is a new gallery space at Sabine Street Studios partially funded by the Houston Arts Alliance (HAA) and the City of Houston. ECG was founded by Justin Earl Grant and Alexander Squier with the main purpose of celebrating the “line” as an essential element in the visual arts. Artists and creators are challenged to think of the many shapes a line can take, as well as its emotions and meanings.”
