June 2 - August 12, 2023
From Austin Central Library:
“Go-To’s examines the expectations of an individual in society and the spaces we use to facilitate our connection with others. What brings about a sense of recharge and wellness within our commitments and selected company? Whereabouts do we maintain, grow or even curb our relationships?
Dale takes a maximalist approach in navigating our large, modern social networks. She uses painting as a means of preliminary world building to document medleys of memory, wish, and hang-ups. Oil paintings big and small are peppered with small supplementary sculptures fabricated from upcycled plastics and homemade bioplastics to create downy, transparent artifacts and portals, further entangling storylines of transparency and boundaries.
Artist Bio: Aubree Dale is a Fort Worth, TX based multi-disciplinary artist. Solo and group exhibitions include locations throughout Texas including the The Fort Worth Art Center, Black Lagoon Gallery, and Cloud Tree Gallery. In 2010, she earned a BFA in Painting and Drawing from The University of North Texas and studied Architectural & Ornamental Welding at ACC.”
