“In celebration of Pi day, notsuoH will be presenting a series of works by KK Grether examining the intersection of arts and social space in downtown Houston’s nightlife and bar scene. These works will be an investigation of both the artist’s studio practice and sociological explorations. More succinctly: this exhibition is a “Slice of Life” that is derived from the current iteration and manifestation of notsuoH.
The exhibit will open on March 14th 2023 and continue until April 23rd 2023. The opening reception will occur on Pi day (3/14/23) at 7pm and continue until midnight. For more information please see: https://www.kkgrether.com/sliceoflife
KK Grether works with a variety of media including but not limited to: Plaster, acrylic, oil, found objects, decommissioned barware, and countless other materials. The constant throughline in their work however remains investigations into how the interactions of individuals’ inner worlds with the outer world of social space. KK Grether is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and currently serves as the Assistant Director of Art Museum TX. Their work has been featured by University of Houston Downtown, Art Museum TX, and other institutions.”
