From the Pearl Fincher Museum:
“Martin Weinstein creates dynamic landscapes by combining abstraction with layered elements. He breaks down compositions into three to four layers on clear acrylic sheet surfaces that are then combined to form a perspective spanning time. The complexity in his approach leads the paintings to envelop movement, time, and dimensionality. Weinstein occasionally abstracts elements of his landscapes, subtly shifting an axis or bending the light to capture how we see and experience the world in actuality.
Weinstein’s earliest inspiration was the work of J.M.W. Turner, which he viewed at the British Museum in London. His interest in abstraction, depth, and enhanced perspectives has created an exciting, interesting approach to the familiar subject matter of landscape painting.
Weistein has shown his work extensively, in over 30 solo museum exhibitions nationally, and at Franklin Reihlman Fine Art, New York; Walter Wickiser Gallery, New York; Allen Gallery, New York; MacNider Art Museum, Mason City, IA; Visual Arts Center, Sioux Falls, SD; and the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, Atlanta GA.
Exhibition organized through Katharine T Carter & Associates.”
