There will be an opening reception, Friday, October 23 from 11-5 by appointment, limited to 5 people at a time with masks required.
SYNOPSIS: Nicole Longnecker Gallery announces the exhibit, Isolation, featuring new work from photographic artist Cara Barer. Barer’s archival photograph and encaustic images are a departure from her iconic book sculpture edition prints.
“The works are a complete departure from what Cara is famous for – her artistically manipulated book sculptures,” said gallery owner Nicole Longnecker. “These new portraits, captured by Barer during the Houston Marathon, are raw and full of emotion. Her addition of encaustic wax imparts an abstracted veil that amplifies and invites the viewer to embrace the emotion.”
CARA BARER: American photographer, Cara Barer, lives and works in Houston. She has been represented in numerous solo exhibitions in Galveston, Houston, Toronto, New York, and Petaluma with group exhibitions across the United States.
