April 16 - 19, 2020
Building upon the success of the inaugural year of Antidote I in 2019, Talley Dunn Gallery is pleased to announce an expanded program for Antidote II in 2020 which will include Dallas based Ro2 Art in a unique four-day event of special exhibitions, artist talks, performances, and installations at Talley Dunn Gallery during Dallas Arts Month. Antidote II will kick-off the weekend with a celebration of artists represented by both galleries on Thursday, April 16th from 6pm – 9pm.
Talley Dunn, celebrating her 20th year on Tracy Street, with Jordan Roth and Susan Roth Romans, celebrating their 10th year as founders of Ro2 Art, have joined together to highlight their artist programs and their longstanding commitment to the Dallas art community during this four-day celebration. Talley Dunn Gallery’s 10,000 square foot complex serves as the setting for this collaboration where Ro2 Art will occupy one of five exhibition spaces to present a group exhibition of gallery artists and special projects for the occasion.
For this event, Ro2 Art will occupy the Viewing Room Gallery with an exhibition of new works by Olaniyi R. Akindiya Akirash, Gillian Bradshaw-Smith, Ray-Mel Cornelius, Joshua Goode, Terry Hays, Brian K. Jones, Bumin Kim, Yuni Lee, Julie Libersat, Jeanne Neal, Kathy Robinson-Hays, Brian K. Scott, Erica Stephens, Carroll Swenson-Roberts, Brandon Thompson, David W. Van Ness, Peggy Wauters, Scott Winterrowd, James Zamora, and more.
Bill Davenport will return to the gallery’s courtyard with the legendary Bill’s Junk Road Show. Housed in a repurposed fireworks stand, this immersive outdoor installation will house Bill’s best junk from high art to low craft and everything in between. Bill, himself, will be on-hand selling his most impressive junk for this one-weekend only extravaganza.
Antidote II will also feature two one-person exhibitions: Painting and Mugs by Houston-based Francesca Fuchs in the Main Gallery and Drawing Fast and Slow by Brooklyn-based artist Butt Johnson in the Project Gallery. The Middle Gallery will feature new works by Anila Agha, David Bates, Margarita Cabrera, Leonardo Drew, Vernon Fisher, Pia Fries, Ori Gersht, Kana Harada, and Linda Ridgway, among others.
For Antidote II, Talley Dunn, Jordan Roth, and Susan Roth Romans will welcome collectors, curators, artists, educators, and press to see and experience the programming of each gallery and the artists represented. Antidote II will be free and open to the public Friday, April 17th, Saturday, April 18th, and Sunday April 19th from 11am until 6pm.
