From Ro2 Gallery:
“Carla Gannis: To the Max
Making her Texas debut, Carla Gannis takes hybridity to its limits in To the Max, an exhibition that revels in the intersections of identity, technology, and storytelling through a bold mix of digital and physical media. Blending AI, digital collage, hand-drawn elements, and sculptural interventions, Gannis challenges the boundaries of portraiture in the algorithmic age. Known for her irreverent yet deeply layered approach to contemporary art, her work constructs an exuberant space where technology is both a collaborator and a provocateur.
A New York-based transmedia artist, Gannis has exhibited internationally at institutions including the Pérez Art Museum Miami, the Whitney Museum of American Art, Fotografiska Museum (Tallinn, Estonia), and DAM Gallery (Berlin, Germany). Recognized for her innovative fusion of classical art traditions with cutting-edge digital technologies—from augmented reality to machine learning—she is a leading voice in the evolving conversation on AI and identity in contemporary art. She is also a professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering.”
