March 15 - April 13, 2025
From Stinson House:
“The Pride of Starch is a collection of paintings and drawings by Houston-based artist Bryce Fitzgerald. A culmination of work spanning the past five years, this exhibition serves as a cathartic release. This is a display to allay the harrying themes of excessive consumption and waste in modern American culture, hypochondriac hiding and self-preservation, and the ever-present, looming spirit of death under capitalism. Employing a cartoonish, graphic style as the vessel for these existential topics allows for humor to be found within. The artist hopes to provide a bright spot in such dark times, a bit of a hoot and a holler.”
