From Tyler Junior College:
“Clayton Hurt is a Dallas based artist, who’s work spans many media. Known mostly for his eclectic looking animal, usually dog sculptures. Hurt’s art often rides the line between struggle and humor. Clayton currently works at The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth as on-call Installation and Design. Hurt also teaches at Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, TX and online for Mesalands Community College in Tucumcari, NM as an Adjunct Professor. He has shown his work at various DFW galleries and has been included in numerous regionally juried exhibitions. Many of his past works sit in private and a few public collections. He received his MFA at TCU in 2007 and his BFA at UNT in 2005. Clayton also studied art at Brookhaven College until 2002 and graduated from BTWHSPVA/Arts Magnet Highschool in 1999. As a 2nd generation artist Clayton grew up being surrounded by art and local DFW artists/family.”

The writing/grammar/spelling of this note from the college doesn’t speak well of it. SIGH.
I’m not a writer. Just an artist. I’ve got like 10 versions of this, but I always use spell and grammar check;)
Annabelle, while I support the importance of good grammar and good writing, I think the priority here should be to support and celebrate the featured artist. When colleges like Tyler Junior College chose to exhibit the work of artists like Clayton Hurt it is a win-win for their art students and the area community. I enjoy Clayton’s work and I look forward to seeing his exhibition at Tyler Junior College.
