Red Bird Press Grand Opening

“Red Bird Press, Houston’s newest community printmaking/art space with equipment acquired from The Printing Museum, after its closing earlier this year. Instead of auctioning off the equipment to help pay off debts, they chose to entrust it to a new studio space where the equipment would continue to be accessible to the community, as opposed to being split up and sold to private studios around the country.

Red Bird Press is a working artist studio space, where artist’s can sign up to become an Artist Member to have access to the equipment to make work, or a Supporter Member where there will be perks like discounted classes, workshops, and merch.

The studio will hold classes and workshops on a variety of mediums – including but not limited to – letterpress, intaglio, relief, lithography, paper making, book arts, as well as alternative process. There will be classes for all skill levels, and engaging social and team-building events!

In addition to holding classes, it will also work for collectives and groups as a space to hold their meetings at.”
