“INCOGNITO is an exhibit of new paintings and sculpture by San Antonio-based artist Jimmy LeFlore. LeFlore’s new work consists of wall mounted and hanging constructions made from salvaged burlap and wood scrap. Works have been composed into “painting” surfaces and the physical characteristics of each piece are treated like found objects that inform the drawing and painting applied in oils, acrylics, inks and stains. The artist chose the exhibit title “INCOGNITO”, as a reference to the cognitive act of masking, hiding and evading what is difficult to face; including the loss of one’s cognitive ability, memories and personhood.”
