February 15 - March 1, 2020
Frank Burt was born and raised in the American Midwest, and currently lives in Houston, TX. He attended Washington University in St. Louis, St. Louis University, and the University of Missouri in Columbia (where he studied under poet Larry Levis), graduating with a BA in literature. Recognizing early on that global culture was undergoing radical transformations on nearly every level, and that traditional forms of art, literature, and scientific philosophy were no longer capable of accommodating the forces at play in the emergent cultural conditions, Burt has sought to comprehend and acquire ground for a new accommodation.
He believes that a consideration of the field of non-rational numbers could lead to a greater comprehension of the deep structure (or implicate order) of the natural world, and bring us to a greater understanding of not who—but what—we are, upon which all cultural supposition is based.
