A massive three-month project involving parades, visual arts installations, performances, outdoor concerts, and much more—all in celebration of the centennial of the Houston Ship Channel. Opening: September 2, 2014 | 11 am – 12 pm
Mayor Parker officially kicks off "Transported + Renewed" by unveiling Houston artist Sharon Engelstein’s whimsical sculpture, "Whatever Floats."
Special event: November 23, 2014 | 6–8 pm
Silos III: Comunidad & Matriz(x). Due to predicted heavy rains, Houston Arts Alliance's Transported + Renewed's Silos III has been rescheduled from Saturday to Sunday. The event will still take place at the same time and location, and FrenetiCore Dance will still perform a series of new and original work and will feature projections by Ramon Barela and Jonathan Jindra.
