Description of Position:
DCA is looking for a creative, driven, and skilled part-time employee to assist with daily office tasks and to work alongside the Owners and Project Managers. Work will consist of special projects, administrative efforts, and ongoing contracts. Site visits to a private residence and public institutions may be necessary depending on the scope of work, so discretion, a professional demeanor, and decorum are necessary. Position will primarily report to our office in The Heights.
Professional Skills and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field desired (writing, design, architecture, graphic design, interior design, arts), or demonstrable practical experience. Those interested in the position should possess a strong proficiency in written communication, including technical writing and correspondence; advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; and Adobe Creative Suite experience. Our desire is that the part-time employee will possess a unique skill that is beneficial to DCA. Examples: graphic design experience, architecture background, specific knowledge of contemporary art, etc.
Qualifications
- Create art layouts, space planning using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to measure spaces and use them to create scaled elevations.
- Schematic design and development showing artwork in context with other interior design elements.
- Create design presentations and preparing materials for client meetings.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, and/or related software applications.
- Willingness to assist with other non-design projects as needed.
- Professional demeanor, office experience, sense for good design.
- Personality: team player, upbeat disposition, can-do attitude, utmost discretion, and punctuality.
Schedule
- Office-based regular schedule 20-30 hours per week. Additional hours may become available.
- Commitment of at least 2 years.
- Flexible (yet consistent) schedule and start date.
