About
Throughline Collective (Houston, TX) announces a national call for entries for, Mapping Perspectives, a juried exhibition to be held in conjuntion with FotoFest Houston, curated by Samantha Johnston, Executive Director & Curator of the Colorado Photographic Arts Center (CPAC), in Denver, Colorado. In the spirit of FotoFest’s theme of Critical Geography,Mapping Perspectives explores power structures, inequalities, and dominant ideologies within and across marked boundaries. We live in a world where influence comes from more than geographical coordinates, lines on a map. Mapping Perspectives is a show where photographs capture how culture, society, economics, politics, religion give shape and outline to our lived environments. What measured boundaries are deconstructed when we seek to find the forces that connect us?
