Description
Assistant to the Director of the Blaffer Art Museum. Manages calendar, travel, and aspects of the museum’s financial operations; and functions as liaison to the Museum Advisory Board.
Job Duties
- Functions as assistant to the Director of the Museum, managing calendar, travel, preparation for appointments and meetings, and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Manages aspects of Museum financial operations, in cooperation with the Director.
- Prepares and processes purchase vouchers, Service Center Requisitions, travel requests, travel vouchers and purchase requisitions.
- Prepares financial/expenditure documents for the department, maintaining financial/expenditure files, and following up on vendor inquiries.
- Support the Director in developing and implementing internal operating policies and procedures.
- Assists the Director in overseeing production of exhibition-related publications, special events, and security for receptions, events, and museum functions.
- Serves as the Director’s liaison to other colleges, departments, and the Museum Advisory Board.
- Prepares agendas for Advisory Board meetings.
- Prepares minutes of Advisory Board meetings.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelors and 3 years experience
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
