Position Framer / Preservationist Fitter (full or part time)
Business Hours Monday – Friday 8:00 to 5:00
Position Overview- The Preservationist Fitter is responsible for the safe handling of artworks, fitting artworks in frames or other display cases using archival methods.

The company provides museum quality framing and other display solutions for collectors, museums, galleries and art consultants.
Required Qualifications
- Picture framing experience
- Care and handling of artworks
- Excellent communication ability
- Exhibit high standards and perfection in work
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to stand while working, bend, climb ladder and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Applicant should have an appreciation for art and art history
Principal Duties
- Use and maintain hand tools, wall mount cutter, computerized mat cutter
- Safe handling of artwork
- Application of museum hinges and other archival methods of attachment
- Sew textiles or other objects as a method of attachment
- Prepare and cut all types of breathers/spacers
- Make fabric wrapped mats
- Create mat and fabric covered decks
- Cut glass and acrylic
- Assemble all frame parts and artwork and fit with strainers, finishing details and hardware
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe Fitting Department
Pay Scale- $23 – $28 hourly
