Studio Z Art & Design School is a private school located in Montrose district of Houston, dedicated to enhancing art appreciation and talent for children and adults. We offer a selection of 2D and 3D courses, promoting students to participate local and national exhibitions and contests, and helping advanced students develop portfolios for college applications. We are currently looking for a ceramic/sculpture teacher with great passion for education. This is a PART TIME job, starting from January 2024.
Position Summery:
- Developing and implementing curriculums for students in beginner and intermediate levels.
- Preparing for class, demonstrating techniques, teaching working habits, cultivating aesthetics, and managing firing schedules for ceramic works. Having knowledge on operating a kiln is a plus, but not necessary.
- Instructing teen students to create advanced work for national visual art competition.
- Keeping the classroom organized and clean.
- Establishing and maintaining a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students and colleagues.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Ceramics, Sculpture, or similar professional qualification.
- Teaching at K-12 level is a plus.
Attendance and Teaching Schedule:
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
- Must be available during WEEDENDS.
Student Age Group: age 5 & up, and adults.
Hourly Wage: $37+ or DOE
