The Lamar D. Fain College of Fine Arts and The Juanita and Ralph Harvey School of Visual Arts seeks an Assistant Professor of Art – Graphic Design. Midwestern State University is the only public liberal arts institution in Texas located two hours northwest of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex. The university is a member of COPLAC and the Harvey School of Visual Arts is a member of NASAD, offering a comprehensive undergraduate art curriculum. This is a full time, benefits eligible, tenure-track position. Salary is competitive.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must hold an M.F.A. in Graphic Design or related discipline at the time employment begins. Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary education environment and/or professional experience is desired. Recent M.F.A. graduates are also encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach a range of graphic design courses at the undergraduate level that demonstrate proficiency in visual communication using the Adobe Creative Suite as well as time-based media. We seek candidates who can contribute to the development of new courses in emerging digital technologies and contribute to the educational goals of the department. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include research and service requirements consistent with tenure expectations.
