Gone with the Wolves

New York State is trying to draft legislation to stem the hemorrhage of art sales (the polite euphmism is "de-accessioning") from heretofore noble institutions feeling the economic pinch. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim, the Whitney and others have  quickly opposed the measure, holding out for the sanctity curator’s intellectual freedom to choose  what to keep and what to throw to the wolves. Discuss among yourselves.
