From Washington Gallery:
“The Washington Gallery is proud to present The Space We Share, an exhibition featuring the work of eight emerging female artists from Baylor University. This exhibition explores the unique and shared experiences of women in the physical and creative spaces they occupy. Each artist presents two of their strongest works, showcasing a diverse range of media, including painting, lens-based work, ceramics, and graphic design.
The Space We Share offers a dynamic experience, showcasing how each artist navigates her personal space within the context of broader, shared experiences. From the softness and strength of femininity in the outdoor environment to the delicate relationship between humans and nature, the works explore themes of vulnerability, resilience, growth, and memory. The exhibition is a testament to the collaboration and generative spirit of artmaking, affirming the collective and individual spaces that define the lives and works of these artists.
The exhibition will be open to the public at Washington Gallery on May 10th, 2025 and run to May 17th, 2025. An opening reception will be held on May 10th, 2025, where visitors can meet the artists and learn more about their creative processes.
