We invite Artist to submit to the I AM exhibition in honor of Juneteenth
“I Am”, is a group exhibit expressing the statement I am and what that means to the Artist and the world or community they inhabit. In this exhibit the Artist has the opportunity to not only honor June 19th 1865, but to also put a voice to I Am.
At this point in History slaves took a step towards claiming their humanity in a country and society that viewed them as less. Transforming as leaders, educators, artist, homeowners, pilots, and so much more. While honor history we also celebrate the present and future. What does it mean to know your history? What does it mean to freely shape your future? What does it mean to have a voice?
