Join us for a day of denim, design, and dialogue in support of Sexual Assault Awareness. Featuring Texas-based denim artists, designers, and community organizations, this event celebrates fashion as activism.
Denim Day originated in 1999 in response to a woman who was faulted for her rape based on the argument that her tight jeans implied consent. Women in the Italian Parliament wore jeans to work, sparking an international movement that uses denim as a symbol of solidarity against victim-blaming and in support of survivors.
Community organizations will be integrated among denim vendors to encourage conversations about building a strong network of support.
