From St. Edward’s University:
“This work explores themes I have been interested in since studying at St. Edward’s almost a decade ago. Always rooted in the natural world and its fragility, archiving memory, finding beauty in the mundane. This body of work pushed comfort zones, rhythms, and practices to which I’ve grown accustomed. By experimenting with new mediums and applications, new ideas were uncovered. Mending and healing. Coating chamomile bundles in a chalky medium felt ceremonial. Laying them to rest feels honoring. This show allowed space to experiment with decision-making and problem-solving. The work is all deeply personal, but the themes explored— life, death, healing, new beginnings, and personal evolution are all universal.”
