From Fort Works Art:
“Greg Bahr’s solo exhibition, “Transportation Transformation,” examines the often-overlooked visual patterns and rhythms of everyday travel. Inspired by his daily commutes and the repetitive nature of transportation, Bahr translates his habitual routes through Fort Worth into abstract compositions that explore movement, routine, and change.
Art in Motion: The Language of Transit
Bahr’s works are marked by bold geometric forms, layered textures, and rhythmic repetition, reflecting the structure and predictability of transit systems while also highlighting moments of unexpected beauty within the ordinary. His work invites viewers to consider how motion shapes our perception of time and space, as well as the often-subconscious ways in which we interact with our environment.
A Career in Art and Preservation
In addition to his personal artistic practice, Bahr has dedicated over 15 years as a preparator at The Amon Carter Museum, where he has worked closely with historical and contemporary artworks. This experience has influenced his precise yet expressive approach to painting, allowing him to explore the intersection between preservation and reinvention.
With “Transportation Transformation,” Bahr encourages viewers to reconsider their own daily travels, reframing the mundane act of moving from place to place as a profound and artistic experience.”
