January 11 - April 12, 2025
From Akim Money Fine Arts:
“Akim Monet Fine Arts, in partnership with the Musée Rodin, Paris, is delighted to announce its upcoming exhibition, Myths Reimagined: Rodin and the Art of Transformation, opening on January 11, 2025, and running through April 12, 2025, at the gallery’s Dallas location. This exhibition marks the tenth anniversary of the gallery’s collaboration with the Musée Rodin, offering a nuanced exploration of the timeless dialogue between myth, creativity, and transformation. The exhibition features a dozen Rodin bronzes, representing various periods of his career and illuminating the breadth and significance of his artistic legacy. These are presented in conversation with modern artists Joseph Beuys and George Grosz, as well as contemporary artist Lita Albuquerque, creating a cross-temporal dialogue that underscores the exhibition’s themes. A key highlight of the exhibition is the inclusion of works by Akim Monet himself, featuring photography and conceptual sculpture. By stepping into the role of artist, alongside that of gallerist and curator, Monet contributes a deeply personal perspective to the exhibition’s exploration of transformation and mythology. Central to the curatorial process is the integration of artificial intelligence. Monet conducted extensive research to create detailed fact sheets for each artwork, grouped them thematically, and provided this material to ChatGPT. By refining the prompts given to the AI, Monet guided the generation of interpretive texts, which were adopted with minimal adjustments. This collaborative process between human expertise and technology brings a fresh perspective to curatorial practice, bridging historical works with contemporary tools. “Rodin’s work redefined sculpture as a transformative medium,” says Akim Monet. “In Myths Reimagined, we honor his legacy by incorporating modern and contemporary voices, as well as new technologies like AI, to reinterpret his art for today’s audiences.” The exhibition will open with a cocktail reception on January 11, 2025, and will feature additional programming by invitation throughout its run. Myths Reimagined: Rodin and the Art of Transformation will remain on view through April 12, 2025. Transport and logistics for the exhibition are handled by Cadogan Tate.
