December 2 - 31, 2024
From the Silos at Sawyer Yards:
“Houston artist VIII presents In Between the Lines That Connect Us, a captivating solo exhibition that merges pop, abstract, and figurative art to create an immersive journey. VIII fills the hallway of Bay 300 with vibrant abstract works—spirals, lines, and pops of color that flow together like a living web of emotion and connection. At the heart of the exhibition, at the end of the hallway, stands a reimagined Last Supper, transformed through bold, pop-abstract imagery. This reinterpretation serves as both a reflection on the power of togetherness and a celebration of the festive spirit of December.
While the Last Supper takes center stage, the rest of the exhibition is all about you—the visitor. These abstract works are designed for enjoyment, exploration, and personal engagement, inviting you to interact with the art and discover your own unique interpretations. This immersive experience is meant to spark fun, curiosity, and connection with every step.
VIII writes: “As an artist, I’ve often been told to create abstract art for the public, but as a colorist, I blend in a pop sensibility. The result is a collection that plays with both form and emotion, inviting you to feel rather than simply observe.”
The exhibition is on view from December 2 – 31 in the Bay 300 Gallery of the Silos at Sawyer Yards studio building, open from 9-5pm Monday through Saturday. Join the artist for an opening reception on Saturday, December 14 from 5:00 – 7:00pm.”
