Jose Canales: Armadillo Soup

“Armadillo Soup is a collection of work inspired by the artist’s recent travels between Louisiana and Texas, having added almost 100,000 miles to his car along the way. Always synonymous with the countryside were the armadillos he saw on the side of the road. The heart of this show is a bittersweet homage to those poor belly-up animals who are somehow both part of the scenery and embedded into the roadside culture. Jose’s exhibition will include the screenprints, woodcuts, and animation that have defined his work over the years.”
