April 1 - May 20, 2023
From The Silos at Sawyer Yards:
“Color:Story is a biennial collaborative visual art and poetry exhibition with a dynamic opening night reading / poetry slam. This community event was created by artists Marlo Saucedo and Leslie Gaworecki to bridge creative worlds.
This year’s show included work from 22 Texas-based artists inspired by and including text from poetry by 29 writers around the country. Many of the poets and artists will be present at the opening reception, and the poets will each read or perform. The exhibition will remain on view through May 20th. Each work is hung alongside the poem that inspired it for guests to enjoy.
The exhibition will take place in Gallery 100 in the Silos Studios building at 1502 Sawyer St. The reception will take place on Saturday, April 8th, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Poetry readings will begin at 6:30, and will be kicked off by Outspoken Bean, Houston’s Poet Laureate. Light refreshments will be served, join us and meet the artists and poets behind this unique collaborative exhibition! “
