June 30 - July 30, 2022
From Echo Gallery:
“Echo Gallery announces the the first of a series of signature events to be known as “Noche en Blanco”. The first Noche event will occur Thursday, June 30th from 5-8 pm at Echo Gallery, 1725 S US Hwy 281 in Blanco, TX. Noche en Blanco is a recreation of the French Nuit Blanche and Spanish Noche en Blanco events where artists and galleries offer art and gratitude back to their host communities. The public is invited to the event, which will feature live music, food and beverages. Gallery co-owner and Curator Linda Haddock stated, “The purpose of the Noche en Blanco (White Night), or Nuit Blanche by those who started it, is to offer a taste of culture back to our community.” The evening will feature a reception for the exhibition, entitled “Evolution: Life & Art”, a showing of work by local artists with a national reputation, Glenda Kronke and Susan Kirchman. Glenda Kronke spent her childhood on the Gulf Coast of Texas and has lived on both the East and West coasts. Her strong connection to nature is rooted in a passion for camping, hiking, and exploring the outdoors. Her work is heavily influenced by the patterns and textures she sees on these treks. Glenda has spent the past 35 plus years working for and being mentored by glass artists from around the country. Susan Kirchman’s art works are in private collections in many states as well as in Barbados, Australia, England, Italy and Germany. Professor Kirchman retired from Texas A&M University in 2005 with Emerita status, and together with her husband Warren Vilmaire, bought a dilapidated building in Johnson City, TX which they completely rebuilt to open Kirchman Gallery of Contemporary Fine Art. After nearly 15 years, Susan has retired again, now spending every day in her studio, making art.”
