From G Contemporary Gallery:
“Artist Statement
This exhibition is a concoction of artworks conceived as the pandemic carnival of madness careened along during what, at times, seemed like the world’s last days. A ticket dispenser demarks the entrance into this psychic landscape – a circus of ethical relativism, societal impediments, and gendered power symbols. Colorful lighters provide a joyous spark for the burning clouds that lend a comic sense of doom over the scene. There is a perplexing ransom note. A raucous flock of vaginal speculums is cackling on a fence, and a dejected X-chromosome sits slumped on the floor. A standard warns us that humanity has strayed far off course. Unsympathetic images of human brains confront, alienate and fascinate. These objects and images don’t sit well together, and yet, they do, as poignant, strident, and reckless meditations.
