June 3 - July 30, 2022
From Arts Fort Worth:
“Alli Rogers loves to play. The spontaneity, the creativity, the collaboration of play are integral to the way she interacts with the world and the people in it. Through playful collaboration, we learn more about ourselves and one another. We share and create knowledge, build community bonds, and opportune vulnerable spaces for conversation and growth.
Throughout each phase of the pandemic, Alli reflected on the relationship with her home, her neighborhood, and her community. What has it meant to reconstruct her vision of home as a space of safety, of creativity, of loneliness, of isolation, of anxiety? How have the harsh social and economic realities of the last two years affected the way she views her neighbors?
The Fun Homes invites fellow neighbors to playfully co-construct the idea of “neighborhood” using brightly painted blocks made from secondhand wood pieces and home renovation remnants. Together, we will move, build, connect, destroy, and remake a vibrant community, both fictional and true. Have fun!”
