From Really Small Museum:
“When making this work, Jana Swec pretends there’s no end in sight and allows the piece to metamorphosize. As an artist this conjures feelings of thrill, anxiety, hope and excitement. She becomes more of a witness than the creator. It’s a liberation from hard concepts. New atmospheres emerge while previous spaces evaporate. The thrill of seeing breaks of light reveal new depths. Details surprise and inform the unexpected actions. This work mirrors everyday life as we witness things only in the moment. It reminds one that the only thing that stays the same is change, like clouds in the sky.
This form of interactive art asks the viewer to return more than once to appreciate its evolution. “Breaking” will be displayed for one month at the Really Small Museum, as it changes throughout its stay.
Visit the Really Small Museum (14th Corner Contemporary) May 26th at 6 pm to talk with the artist and witness the evolution in progress. “
