From Catherine Coutourier Gallery:
“Catherine Couturier Gallery is delighted to present Internal Logic, an exhibition of new work by gallery artist Maggie Taylor.
Maggie Taylor (American, b. 1961, Gainesville, Florida) is well known for her technique and use of a flatbed scanner instead of a traditional camera to capture the objects and photographs she collects from various sources. In 1996, Taylor first used Adobe Photoshop to manipulate the timelessness of antique portraits by playing on their whimsical nature. She uses background elements to add texture and a sense of space, spontaneously and intuitively creating an ethereal style which resonates a surreal narrative content. The exhibition will feature 15 of Taylor’s latest works and her newly released book, Internal Logic. Limited edition and regular trade copies of will be available for purchase.
Maggie Taylor’s work is held by numerous public and private collections including The Art Museum, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ; The Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA; Harn Museum of Art, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX; and The Museum of Photography, Seoul, Korea.
The artist will be signing copies of her latest book Internal Logic during the opening reception on Saturday, April 9th from 2-4 p.m.
Prints are also available on aluminum. Learn more about dye sublimation prints here.
All works available in the following prizes and editions as archival inkjet prints:”
